About every 8 weeks or so . . .
I go and give blood. Normally I take Mike with me just in case if I get dizzy, faint, etc....
I figured heck I've done this 3 times, I should be fine. So I invited Kathryn to donate as well. She said she has been meaning to do it, so she went as well.
I got there, signed up for my appt at 12 pm. Got the boys in the free childcare area and went to go do the screening. Got done with it and went straight to donate blood, (well after picking up my freebies from the red cross).
Got over there and normally they offer you something to drink, not this time. So I'm sitting there and she starts the task at hand. She sticks the needle in and guess what, she missed the vein, so I had to have her fish around in there. FUN NOT!!! She finally gets it. I'm just about done and guess what I'm getting hot, dizzy and feeling like I'm about ready to throw up and pass out. So they lay me back (Yes just like those folks that you normally smile at when it happens to them, this time it was me). Okay y'all know how much I love to talk, I will talk with anyone. Well at this point, I don't want to talk, I want to go to sleep. I keep getting told to talk, don't close your eyes etc.... Finally I'm not dizzy and I get this cute Airman from Honor Guard beside me just a chatting cause he has get me and walk me to the tables. So I'm chatting with him and my phone rings, it's Kathryn she just got there and was worried cause she couldn't find me. I told her I'm the one with my feet up. So after about 15 minutes I finally get some fluids from another Honor Guard member. Got to love those Airman!!!!
I get walked over to the tables and my cutey tells me to but my elbows on the table so that I fall forward if I faint. LMAO!
I'm sitting there and the lady in front of me got dizzy and everything as well. Oddly enough, there was lots of folks getting hot and dizzy at this thing. Well I eat my pizza, drink more drink, and go to get the boys. OPPS I can't remember what direction of the mall I left my kids. I went 3 difference ways, well damn if I would have went the 4th I would have found them, but at this point I couldn't remember if I went that way or not. Still just a bit out of it. I finally ask someone and guess what they didn't know either. About 5 minutes later I find the kids with the help of a different person. YAY!. They had fun, coloring eating, drinking, watching TV. They got stickers and a balloon. They want to give blood when they get older. So I sit down on the bench in the mall and Guess What. . .
I see Kathryn, so I decided to go with her and help her out with the kiddos. So here we go again, but this time, it was Kathryn, not me. I held her hand when she got poked and chatted with her, offered her my drink, played with the boys, while sitting my little arse on the floor. Don't cross your legs. he he he
We got done and we sat back at the tables, needless to say she didn't need Airman cutey to help her. The kids ate pizza cookies and played with the stuff on the table. I layed down on the floor and everyone keep asking are you okay. I was still dizzy, just wanted to sleep. Needless to say, I got Mike out of work, he had to drive me home. His car is still at the mall. Loving my TSgt Cutey!
I'm home sleep some and now I feel better. Time to eat and then go get Mikes car from the Mall.
Just in case if you're wondering I ate breakfast and a snack before giving blood.
So looking forward to Aug 21, to do it again. Right Kathryn!
